Corridor Care - Speech in Parliament

Corridor care should never be normalised in the NHS.

In Parliament, I spoke about the collapse in bed capacity over recent decades, the pressure that places on A&E, and the need to strengthen community health services so fewer patients end up in hospital unnecessarily.

At West Suffolk Hospital, staff have shown that with the right whole-hospital approach, corridor care is not inevitable. Patients deserve safe, dignified care - not treatment in corridors.
