About Peter
Peter has been an NHS surgeon in East Anglia for thirty years. He still practices, his parliamentary commitments permitting, at NHS hospitals. He is a trustee and former chair of the Norfolk Deaf Association.
First elected in July 2024, Peter’s political passions reflect his professional experience; improving health outcomes, dentistry services, social care provision and disability support, and cutting NHS waiting times. His main areas of interest also include rural affairs, transport and equality. Peter is the vice-chair of the all-party parliamentary group on deafnesss.
Peter is an enthusiastic supporter of the BBC and in addition to his parliamentary duties he likes to keep fit and play chess.
Peter is married to Marian, a retired educational psychologist (and former Sheriff of Norwich). They have three children, two grandchildren and a dog named Elsa!
