Skip the 8am Rush with New NHS Online Forms

Many people feel uncomfortable on the phone, and calling your GP practice can be daunting. People feel like they are wasting others time, especially if it is a non-urgent issue.

To make this easier for patients seeking help, there is now another way to contact a GP practice for non-urgent issues. The NHS, together with the UK Government, have been working to make it easier for patients to contact their GP practice through online forms on their GP practice website or via the NHS App.

Traditional methods (by phone and in person) remain an option, but allowing non-urgent cases to get in touch in this new way frees up time for those who are less confident online.

You can now get in touch online, through your GP practice's website or the NHS App, between 8am and 6:30pm. All requests are reviewed within one working day.

You should still seek immediate help in an emergency. Call 111 (or use https://111.nhs.uk/) for urgent, non-life-threatening medical help when your GP or dentist is closed, or you are unsure where to go. Call 999 immediately for life-threatening emergencies, such as severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, unconsciousness, heavy bleeding, severe burns, or signs of a stroke.
