Weekly Update

Here’s a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament!

Constituency

• Held a constituency surgery at my office in Stowmarket.

• Visited Priory School in Bury St Edmunds. Discussions covered the planned rebuild of the school, SEND funding pressures, the growth of private provision, and barriers to mainstream education, ahead of the SEND White Paper.

Parliament

• Attended Cancer Research UK’s World Cancer Day 2026 drop-in, supporting their call for greater action on cancer research and awareness.

• Chaired an APPG Deafness meeting on Access to Work with Sir Stephen Timms and RNID, focusing on improving support for deaf people in employment.

• Attended two Home Affairs Select Committee meetings this week, examining routes to settlement and the effectiveness of the Home Office.
