Weekly Update

Here’s a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament!

Constituency

• Met with Ed Garratt, chief Executive of Suffolk and North East Essex ICB, to discuss audiology services, emergency and routine dental care, and access to General Practice.

• Met with students at Thurston Community College to discuss a range of issues, including social media access.

Parliament

• Travelled to Manchester with colleagues from the Home Affairs Select Committee to learn more about how football matches are policed.

• Spoke in a debate of medical training, highlighting bottlenecks in postgraduate posts, the need to prioritise UK medical graduates, and calling for expanded training capacity to secure the future of the NHS.

• Opened a debate for Holocaust Memorial Day.
