Weekly Update

Here’s a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament!

Constituency

  • Convened a roundtable with key local stakeholders to discuss Bury St Edmunds applying for Town of Culture.

  • Held a Meet Your MP event for local residents in Thurston.

  • Attended a roundtable meeting hosted by the APPG for the East of England on the Ely/Haughley rail junctions.

Parliament

  • Met with Sir Brian Leveson to discuss court reforms to help tackle delays in the judicial system.

  • Attended a reception hosted by the Road Haulage Association to discuss the poor conditions facing lorry drivers across the country and here in Suffolk.

  • Raised a question in the House recognising award-winning rural GPs in Suffolk and the importance of supporting mental health in rural communities.
