Weekly Update - 22/03/2026

Here’s a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament!

Constituency

  • Held a constituency surgery at the library in Bury.

  • Hosted a Meet Your MP event at The Food Museum in Stowmarket. Discussed many issues including potholes, rural transport and the conflict in the Middle East.

  • Spoke to officials from the Treasury regarding concerns from residents of profiteering from oil companies.

Parliament

  • Raised a question in the House on increasing the state pension and supporting pensioners facing poverty and social isolation.

  • Attended Young Carers Action Day parliamentary drop-in to meet young carers and support the campaign for greater recognition and support.

  • Raised a question on the threat posed by Iran-linked actors and thanked the Community Security Trust for protecting Jewish communities.
