Organ Donor Zoe Taylor Remembered for Incredible Act of Generosity

I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Zoe Taylor, a patient, daughter and proud mother, who died in March 2025 following a short illness.

Zoe leaves an extraordinary legacy. By donating her kidneys, liver, bone and tissue, she gave others the chance of a healthier life. I was moved to hear that a plaque has been unveiled at West Suffolk Hospital in her memory, attended by her sons, Callum and Josh.

Zoe had discussed her wishes with her family, meaning that at an unimaginably difficult time, they knew what she wanted and could honour her decision.

As a doctor, I know how precious organ donation can be. It is an intensely personal choice, but Zoe’s story shows the importance of discussing our wishes with those closest to us.

My deepest condolences go to Zoe’s family and friends. Her generosity has given others hope and precious time - a truly remarkable legacy.
